How to change music volume on Fairphone 4 LineageOS 23.2 with ADB?

To change media/music volume over ADB on a Fairphone 4 running LineageOS 23.2:

Check current volumes:

text
adb shell media volume --stream 3 --get

Set the volume (stream 3 = music/media):

text
adb shell media volume --stream 3 --set <level>

e.g. adb shell media volume --stream 3 --set 10

Other useful variants:

text
adb shell media volume --stream 3 --adj raise
adb shell media volume --stream 3 --adj lower

Stream 3 is STREAM_MUSIC on Android. Valid levels are 0–15 on most devices (the Fairphone 4 included); media volume --stream 3 --get shows the exact valid range for your device.

Alternative (older, less reliable on newer Androids):

text
adb shell input keyevent KEYCODE_VOLUME_UP
adb shell input keyevent KEYCODE_VOLUME_DOWN

but this changes the "active" stream, so it only affects music while music is actually playing — the media volume command is the reliable way to target the media stream directly.
